Stuff two slices of of rustic Italian bread with mozzarella, prosciutto, fresh basil, roasted red peppers, and whatever else takes your fancy, brush with olive oil, then press between the hot plates of this grill for the best panini outside Italy. The nonstick plates are hinged to adjust to any thickness of sandwich, meat, fish, or vegetables, and the bottom plate slants slightly to allow grease and juices to drain off into the included plastic cup. Brunch guests will ooh and aah over the retro-look mirror-and-glitter finish of the grill with its wide sweep of a handle. A round polished knob lets you set and see just the right temperature in a small glass window. Measuring 14 by 12-1/2 by 5 inches, the grill includes a cord wrap and locks for upright storage. I got this for christmas after asking for the george forman grill with removable plates. This press is AWFUL. The top is SO heavy it "presses" anything you put on it until it's 1/4" thin. If you have cheese in your sandwich it will squeeze the life out of your sandwich until the cheese has melted out all over the unwashable grill plates. The only thing you can do to "wash" this is wipe it down, which is a very timely task considering the grill lines are 1/4" high, so you have to meticulously scrub between each and every one of the lines. This is a huge pain!! Save your money and buy something with washable plates, or at the very least something that won't smoosh your meal into a pancake.
